Polyresine takes part of Canopée’s takeoff !

Transport : Le navire « Canopée » déploie ses ailes… et dessine l'avenir du fret maritime ?

In 2023, POLYRESINE’s team took part in Canopée’s takeoff,  a revolutionary cargo ship equipped with rigid pivoting sails, 121 meters long and 22 meters wide. Ordered by the Franco-German company ARIANEGROUP, this jewel of technology was born in Normandy and will have as mission the transport of various elements of ARIANE 6 to Guyana.

High concentration of technology, Canopée is the first cargo ship with sails in the world. Launched in 2022, it’s equipped withmixed propulsion system : wind and mechanical. This process reduces the carbon impact by 15% or 40% depending on weather conditions. A significant step forward at a time when ecology is more and more considered as major challenge.

For this project, POLYRESINE provided assistance to its customer AYRO for Chockfast Orange resin utilisation to chock mast and sails which are called OCEANWINGS, AYRO is the designer and manufacturer.

POLYRESINE’s team realised the grouting during June with only one target : no defects !

Innovating solutions have been proposed to AYRO according the design. That’s the proof that Chockfast resins have always their place in innovative projects.

There is no doubt that POLYRESINE will keep a fond memories for the take-off of the first cargo ship with sails : Canopée.
